So a few months ago Google launched the Google+… It was presented like an innovative social networking site, but I wonder how much innovation it brought to the Internet.
On the positive side, the interface was simple, uncluttered and very user friendly. The concept of the circles was interesting but I believe the concept may need further development to become an addicting innovation. The integration with Google talk was convenient, but it did not bring anything new in this area as other social networking sites already provide the live chat service.
Bottom line, this is the third attempt of Google to increase their share in the social networking world (already had Orkut and Buzz), but this still has not convinced me to maintain my account. I just deleted mine. Or maybe I just have way too many social networking accounts and stuff and cannot cope with one more… Just like the others…
Now don’t misunderstand me. I like Google (As much as an Apple addict can like google). They have an amazing search engine, outstanding map site (google maps), great photo sharing site (picasa), and a lot more. I am never amazed with the things google labs create. They have brought really great innovation to email, search engines and The Internet experience in general… They just still need to improve their social networking formula…
But then again, what do we understand about social networking? After all, this is just a pub with no beer…
